Tracey Woods is the Photo Editor at ESSENCE Magazine, the premiere lifestyle, fashion and beauty magazine for African-American women. With over a decade of experience in the photo industry, Tracey has produced and directed compelling portraiture, fashion, beauty and reportage photography. Prior to ESSENCE, she was a freelance photo editor and producer working with editorial clients, photographers and their agents. Brands she worked with include: Ladies Home Journal, Billboard Magazine, Wiley Publishing and Bon Appétit. Tracey received her MFA in Photography from Pratt Institute and a BA in Studio Art from Rhode Island College.

With an eye for photography and visual storytelling, Tracey has also conducted portfolio reviews for Palm Spring Photo Festival, NY Fotoworks, ASMP and APA. She is most interested in seeing a range of editorial photography including, portraiture, fashion, beauty and photojournalism, but is open to seeing any work demonstrating a thoughtful approach.
