The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) drafted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948 was offered as a common standard of achievements for all peoples and all nations. For the first time in history, it offered an outline of fundamental human rights to be universally protected.

This exhibition will focus specifically on Articles 9 – 11. Each of these articles focuses on the legal protection of the individual from persecution and can be summarized as follows:

* Article 9 – Freedom from illegal detainment or exile
* Article 10 – The right to a fair trial
* Article 11 – Presumed innocence unless found guilty of a crime.

Photographs that illustrate, speak to or are inspired by these concepts will be considered for exhibition – which will be a free, public, outdoor exhibit activating the beautiful NCCHR plaza, and a part of the 2020 Atlanta Celebrates Photography Festival.
